Here in Careers there is only one thing to talk about this week, our upcoming Fairs in Management & Finance, Technology and Law!

Unless you’ve been a hermit, you’re probably aware that there are some big names coming to campus over the next two weeks, like Aviva, Sky and MacFarlanes who are sponsoring these amazing events.

But are you aware of just how many employers will be present?

Let’s run through some facts:

40 employers will be coming to the Management & Finance Fair on the 15th October, 40 employers to the Tech Fair on the 16th October and 37 to the Law Fair on the 24th of October. The first two run from 11-3pm in the Physics Exhibition Centre and the Law Fair will run from 12-3pm in the Ron Cooke Hub.

There will be a FREE shuttle bus from Heslington East (outside the Computer Science building) to Physics for the Technology Fair on 16th October

There is a professional photographer coming to the Law Fair on the 24th October to take your LinkedIn photo for Free!

If you’re interested in going into Law, there is an Alumni networking event after the Fair from 4pm in the PBL area of the Law School, with reps from Linklaters, GLS, Norton Rose, DLA Piper, Langleys and more waiting to meet you.

We’re expecting 2,500 students to come join us!

That means that out of your close circle of 5 university friends, at least one of you will come along. Wouldn’t you like to be the one most in the know about your future prospects?

The reps who are visiting York have come to speak about summer placements, internships and graduate schemes  with their companies, opportunities that are often open to all disciplines.

Regardless of whether you’re in your first, second, third or seventh (!) year at the University of York then, there are likely to be vacancies or work experience openings that will interest you.
