With summer on the horizon, many of you will be starting to plan what to do with all that extra freedom. If you’re after a summer internship, or you just fancy taking on something different to make the most of all those months off, then look no further than a SIB (Student Internship Bureau) Internship!
Looking for valuable, paid internships can often be time consuming and difficult, competing against thousands of other students from hundreds of universities. But applying for an internship through SIB is different. Exclusive to York students, SIB offer high quality, paid summer internships, giving you the chance to gain vital experience and setting you apart from the crowd. And if you’re paying for accommodation over summer, it makes sense to do something that will allow you to earn money and improve your employability at the same time!
This summer, SIB have a huge variety of exciting and challenging paid internships on offer, across a range of employers based in York and North Yorkshire area. Undertaking an internship is a great way to get a taste of the working world, as well as boosting your CV and making you more appealing to employers.
The majority of internships advertised through SIB start in early July, generally lasting between 4 and 12 weeks. And while most vacation internships are full-time, part-time projects are also popular over summer, so there’s something to suit everyone.
So if you want to give Marketing & Customer Engagement a go with City of York Council, or fancy trying your hand as a Laboratory Assistant at FERA, make sure you apply for a SIB summer internship! A previous intern states that “every student should take this opportunity with both hands. It’s a fantastic way to get experience – I can now confidently apply for jobs knowing I have the experience that they require.”
