On Wednesday afternoon the Ron Cooke Hub played host to one of the highlights of the year in Careers – the Careers Celebration and Awards 2014! Hundreds of students were invited to celebrate their achievements made through Student Volunteering (York Students in Schools, York Students in Communities, @Work), the Student Internship Bureau, Student Enterprise and the York Award.
As well as showcasing student successes during the year and detailing the programmes involved, a number of students were specially recognised for their commitment and contribution to the projects offered through Careers. With scones and champagne in abundance, the awards got underway, presented by Deputy-Vice-Chancellor, Jane Grenville, and Director of Careers, Liz Smith. Each category featured a highly commended student, as well as the overall award for outstanding contribution.

Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s Student Volunteering, the Student Internship Bureau, Student Enterprise or the York Award!
