- Welcome
Welcome to York! We’re glad you’ve chosen the University of York for your postgraduate studies and hope you have an amazing time here. And welcome to our first postgraduate newsletter to introduce you to some of the things Careers has on offer for postgraduates.
- New postgrads
If you are new to York, you’ll want to take some time to get to know the campus and the city, as well as getting to grips with your course and the demands of postgraduate study.
But even in the early days of your postgrad course, it’s not too soon to look ahead at what you might be doing next… you may even need to consider making applications during the autumn term! The Careers team can help you develop skills and gain valuable experience outside of your studies that will help you with your next steps. To find out more visit our webpages for postgraduates.
- Postgrads finishing their studies
This is the time of year when you are putting the finishing touches to your dissertation, or maybe you’ve submitted already and your thoughts are turning to what comes next. Careers can help you explore your options and find out about opportunities available, and you may want to come in and talk to someone about your future plans. To help you identify the skills you have developed through your postgraduate study, and how these might help your future employment, have a look at our postgrad web pages.
If you’re an international student leaving York, and have been involved in volunteering or internships here, we’d love to hear about your experiences – could you take the time to complete a case study for us? If you would like to contribute a case study, please email careers@york.ac.uk and we’ll be in touch with you.
