The Student Internship Bureau (SIB) Celebration took place yesterday, recognising the brilliant work this year’s interns have achieved whilst completing campus-based internships.

Tasha McNaught was awarded ‘On-Campus Intern of the Year’ prize. Tasha, a final  year Philosophy student, undertook an 8-week internship with York Sport, where she was tasked with coordinating their marketing strategy and organising an Open Day, which was attended by over 300 people. Tasha’s work brought in more than £11,000 in income for York Sport.

The ‘Highly Commended’ prize was awarded to Douglas Parsons, a second-year Computer Systems and Software Engineering student, for his internship with the University’s Design Solutions. Douglas created an app version of the ‘Your Guide’ booklet, which provides information on the University’s campus bars, cafes and services.
