Interested in working in education, but not keen on teaching in a school?
You may feel drawn towards an educational role of some sort but unsure that mainstream teaching is for you. If that sounds like you, make sure you come and talk to some of the practitioners who will be on campus to meet you this Wednesday – people using teaching and communication skills to work with young people outside of the classroom setting. They represent a range of careers doing things like:
- Supporting young people who may be disengaged or need extra help with learning
- Outreach and education work in the creative or heritage sector
- Educational psychology and social work
- Teaching English as a foreign language – in the UK or overseas
And if you feel sure that teaching is the career for you, make sure you explore all the different routes for training – come and meet some of the training providers at our event on Wednesday 11 November to find out more:
Careers with children, young people and adult learners, 16.00-18.00 (drop in any time) in D/L/028 (Derwent).
