‘Game of Homes‘ Student Intern Success!

On the 18th November the Student Internship Bureau celebrated the successes of more than 50 students who completed internships with departments and services on campus over the summer vacation. Two students were shortlisted for the ‘on campus intern of the summer’ prize, which was awarded to Jamie Macdonald, a second year Interactive Media student who worked with the Centre for Housing Studies to design the aesthetics for ‘Game of Homes’, a role-playing game for 14-16 year olds which teaches players about the housing market and the challenges of leaving home for the first time. Rebecca Saw, also a second year Interactive Media student, was highly commended for the video and website marketing project that she completed with Constantine College.

Students who completed internships with a range of local York businesses during the summer vacation were celebrated at an event earlier in the term. More details about this can be found here and you can find out more about opportunities available to all students through the Student Internship Bureau here. 2016 summer vacation projects (over 150 on campus and with local businesses!) will be launched in mid Spring term so make sure you are CV and application ready by following the SIB’s top tips for internship success!
